18-year old Nigerian goalkeeper stars on La Liga debut

18-years old Francis Uzoho on Sunday became the youngest non-Spanish born player to feature in goal in a La Liga fixture when he started for Deportivo La Coruna’s on Sunday.

The young Nigeria U17 goalkeeper who has featured four times in goal for Depor’s reserve team, marked his debut in goal for the first team against Eibar with a clean sheet.

Uzoho made four saves to deny Eibar from opening the scoring in a game in which the hosts dominated.

His heroics helped Deportivo earn their eight point of the season who were without first choice goalkeeper Ruben Martinez who is out with a finger injury.

Uzoho was part of Nigeria’s U17 team at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup, though he is yet to play for Nigeria.
