2018 WCQ: Zambia invites more home based players


The Head coach of the Chipolopolo of Zambia, Wedson Nyirenda has added 6
more home-based players to the already lengthy list of local players called up for the much anticipated 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria billed for October 7 in Uyo.

Nyirenda, who had only yesterday released a provisional list of 20 home-based players ahead of the Uyo clash, has topped the number with another 6 local players according to Lusaka Times.

The locals in the South African Country are quite joyous with this addition which includes the smouldering midfielder Larry Bwalya whose 4 goals and 7 assists has helped Power Dynamos to 4th on Zambia Premier League log.

Others late additions are Power Dynamos’ Goalkeeper Allan Chibwe, Green Buffaloes’ trio of Mike Katiba, Diamond Chikwekwe and Jack Chirwa while Zesco United’s Misheck Chaila completes the list of late-calls.

This bunch are expected to resume with their fellow home-based players on Monday and commence training in Zambia before departing for Spain where the foreign-based players will join them as they toughen up their preparations for the crucial October 7 clash.
In fews days, the list for foreign based invitees will be released.
