Awomodu expects stiff competition with Osun Utd’s goalkeepers

Newly recruited goal‎keeper of Osun United, Samson Awomodu has declared that he will be ready to step up into the first team despite the competition for places at his new club.

The former Prime FC safe hands said it’s good for a team to have competition for places so as to keep every body fit.

“I’m not scared of the competition here in Osun United. They already have fantastic goalkeepers. Ayo Ojo who has a great performance last season and other young goalkeepers who are also coming up rapidly to command the number one shirt.

“The goalkeepers we have presently are very hardworking guys who will bring out the best in me and I also believe in myself and what I’m capable of whenever I put on the gloves.

“I had a very good relationship with our goalkeeper trainer, coach Tunji Baruwa while I was with Prime FC before travelling abroad. So he knows my strength and I hope I would be able to convince him that I’m still at my top level in between the sticks.

“I’m here in Osun United to contribute my very best to achieve our target. I want to be part of a winning team and write another history with the Omoluabi giants like we did during Prime FC days.

“I’m convince all the goalkeepers here in Osun United are capable of man the post. We all have the zeal and passion to make the team stronger than its opponent. I can’t wait to be call on duty as we are aiming to secure the much needed NPFL ticket for our darling fans”, the former Nigeria Port Authority NPA safehand concluded.
