Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Sunshine Stars are set to appoint former Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen as their new manager, Naijafootballplus.com understands.
Naijafootballplus.com sources in Akure divulged that a deal with the 51-year old former Enyimba International coach was agreed on Thursday.
Eguavoen who led the NPFL All-Stars U17 team to a second place finish in the just concluded Future Champions Gaunteng International tournament in South Africa has signed a two-year deal with the Akure based club.
Coach Kayode Olujohungbe who was appointed as the Head Coach of the Owena Waves before the new season began would be demoted to accommodate the 1994 AFCON winner as the head of the team’s Technical Crew.
Sunshine Stars are placed 18th in the 20 team NPFL table with 18 points from 16 matches.
The club plan to announce Eguavoen arrival later this week.
