Sudan coach Logarusic Hrvatsko has said Dele Ajiboye’s performance helped Nigeria beat his side 1-0 to reach the final of the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Ajiboye replaced injured Ikechukwu Ezenwa in the first half. The former FIFA U17 World Cup winner made brilliant saves to deny Sudan on several occasions.
“Nigeria are more than 160 million people and they can produce 20 good goalkeepers. When he (Ajiboye) was introduced, I could read experience over him and his height was a good advantage.
“I’m not disrespecting other players but he’s my ‘Man of the Match’, he made some important saves and he’s the reason why Nigeria will be playing in the final,” he said.
Sudan dominated the encounter but couldn’t break down the compact Super Eagles defence despite Nigeria playing the better part of the second half with 10-man.
He added: “I’m satisfied with the team progress, I got the job about five weeks to the tournament. They have done well with quality football, I think we are not lucky against Nigeria.”
Nigeria will battle host country Morocco in the final match on Sunday in Casablanca.
