Oliseh and Fortuna Sittard’s poor run of results continues

Super Eagles legendary skipper Sunday Oliseh hopes of steering Dutch second division side Fortuna Sittard to form in February after a poor run of results in the the latter weeks of January, ended in a 0-2 defeat at FC Volendam  on Friday night.

Two early second half goals within the space of three minutes from  Luis Pedro 53rd and Gijs Smal in the 56th minute was all the lowly placed host FC Volendam needed to see off out of form Sittard.

Coach Oliseh who had an amazing first stanza with his team which saw them finish the first period of the league at the top of the table have lost three games in a row leaving them with just one win in 2018 after starting the year with a win against Ajax II this year.

The loss did not have too much adverse effect on the third placed Fortuna Sittard in the Eerste Divisie table with first placed NEC FC who have a 2 points lead over Sittard lost their own match, while fourth placed Telstar behind in 4th and four points adrift of Sittard.

Coach Sunday Oliseh will be hoping to arrest the sudden dip in form and low moral amongst his players when they file out on Monday against AZ II.
