Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was named in the Leicester City starting eleven for their premier League clash against Swansea City alongside indispensable club and country team-mate Wilfred Ndidi.
Both Nigerian stars made important impacts in the game with Iheanacho who replaced Algerian super star Rihad Mahrez in the starting line-up, out after a failed transfer to table topping Manchester City. He produced a deft assist for the foxes leading goalscorer Jamie Vardy in the 17th minute.
It was indeed a brilliant dribbling piece of skill from Iheanacho to get past two markers before laying a pass for Vardy to tap into an empty net.
Iheanacho almost scored after a good move in the 29th minute but was denied by the chest of Alfie Mawson.
Then came Wilfred Ndidi with a goal in the 39th minute that was called off for offside by the assistant referee while Ndidi and his team-mates were already celebrating.
But after resumption of the second half, Swansea captain Federico Fernandez equalized with a header from a corner kick.
Iheanacho was then replaced by Demarai Gray in the 68th minute with full applause from the home crowd.
But Leicester failed to find the winner over the in-form Swansea City side.
