Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche is still doing great things at the age of 33, he scored a goal and created another one to help his side Willem II to a comfortable 3-0 win over visiting VVV-Venlo in a midweek Netherlands Eredivisie match played on Wednesday evening.
He opened the scores at the stroke of halftime with a good finish in the 44th minute. And on resumption of the second half, he turned provider with an assist for Ben Rienstra in the 49th minute to make it 2-0.
Reinstra who benefited from Ogbeche then provided an assist of his own for Jordy Croux in the 67th minute to complete a comprehensive routing for Willem over Venlo.
Ogbeche was recalled to the bench with three minutes left to play, and his place was taken by Cameroonian Eyong Enoch.
The Nigerian has now scored 9 goals in 12 appearances for Willem II this season, bagging 4 assists in the process. A record which trumps his one goal return in 14 matches last season.
The win moves Ogbeche’s Willem II 4 points clear of the relegation battle in the Eredivisie with 20 points from 22 matches.
