Aaron Samuel, Etebo, Oliseh suffer defeats

Let’s take a look at Nigerian players performances on Friday across the European continent.

Striker Aaron Samuel started CSKA Moscow’s 0-1 loss away to Arsenal Tula.
He was subbed off in the 58th minute, 3 minutes after his team-mate was sent off.

Winger Moses Simon was the only Nigerian fielded in Gent FC’s 2-1 loss against Sporting Charleroi.

Simon’s Nigerian team-mates Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu were surprisingly not listed for the travelling squad.

Oghenekaro Etebo started and finished the game for Feirense in their narrow 0-1 defeat at champions Benfica.

Central defender Kenneth Omeruo on loan from Chelsea and forward Emem Eduok both started for Kasimpasa in their 3-1 win over Goztepe.

Omeruo went the distance while Eduok was subbed off in the second minute of added time. Victory saw Kasimpasa end a six-game winless run in the league.

Coach Sunday Oliseh was unable to inspire his Dutch second division side Fortuna Sittard as they fell 0-2 to host De Graafschap FC. Fortuna Sittard sit 3rd on the Jupiler League table, six points adrift of an automatic promotion spot.
