Abayomi Folarin believes MFM FC can cause an upset when they travel to Jos to play Plateau United on matchday 34 of the Nigeria Professional Football League despite Sunday’s goalless draw with Enyimba.

Enyimba held the Church boys to a draw at the Agege stadium on Sunday to deny MFM a chance of drawing level on points with league leaders Plateau United.

Abayomi believes the result will be a blessing in disguise as they are going to Jos for an outright victory over title rivals, Plateau United.

“We are travelling to Jos to get a win. We won’t bother to travel at all if we believe we are going there to lose.

Plateau United hosts MFM on Sunday in what has been tagged a ‘title decider’. A win for Plateau United will see them go 6 points clear of MFM with four games left to play.

“This is a very important clash as many people believe it’s going to be a title decider. We have the chance to reduce the gap and they also want to increase the tally to maintain their top spot on the summit. So we are expecting a tough duel but we will give it everything to ensure we come out victorious”, Abayomi said to naijafootballplus.com

The goalkeeper says they have put that draw against Enyimba behind them though it felt ‘painful’ having dropped points.

“We have put the draw against Enyimba behind us. It’s painful though but we have learnt from it. ‎It’s not over until it’s over. There are five matches to the end of the season and we only have three points trailing leaders, Plateau United and it can be reduced to none this Sunday.

“We feel we have what it takes to continue improving on the log. We have to gather our momentum before the next game. Every game now is important‎ and we don’t want to relax as if nothing is at stake.

“The intensity is high in the training. We remain upbeat and we have charged ourselves to go all out to do ourselves proud in Jos. There’s no reason why things shouldn’t go well in Jos. The understanding between the players, coaches and managements is getting better everyday”.
