Abia Warriors team doctor Enyinnaya Anozie has revealed the injury cupped by striker Sunday Adetunji at the weekend in Makurdi is not life threatening, Naijafootballplus.com can report.
Adetunji, who scored a brace to help the Umuahia based club thrash hosts Lobi Stars 4-2 in the NPFL matchday 33 encounter was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital after he fractured his left arm.
The Super Eagles invitee and former Shooting Stars forward scored his 14th league goal of the season before he got injured. He is now a major doubt for the 2018 CHAN qualifiers against Benin Republic.
“He is now in a stable condition after he was rushed to the hospital, he is getting better and the injury is not career threatening. We are happy the scan gave us a good result.
“He might be on the sidelines for weeks, but he will surely get back to football soon. It is not that terrible, although he can’t play football for now and it is unfortunate he won’t be available for the National team for the CHAN qualifiers,” said Anozie.”
