Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club face an uphill task when they travel to Calabar to engage Enyimba International FC in one of the match day 34 contests of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Saraki boys have dropped form lately which has seen them slip down the table into the relegation zone. They must start garnering points away from home if they are to remain in the NPFL.
However, Chinedu Ajannah has stated that the Ilorin based outfit shouldn’t be ruled out from surviving.
“Enyimba FC have been awesome in their recent games and so do we. We are going to give them the tough game as we are aiming to stop them. On paper, they are favourite but we aren’t going to lie down and make it easy for them”, Ajannah told naijafootballplus.com
“We are fighting for survival and a win over Enyimba is very possible and will be a moral booster for our ambition to retain our NPFL status. Beating the People’s Elephant will do wonders and it will be a big step closer to our survival.
“We will be trying our best to cause a major upset and ease our relegation worries. It’s a tough game when they visited us in the first leg as it ended in a stalemate (1-1), heaven will not fall if we beat them in Calabar or getting a favourable result against the two time Africa champion.
“I think we can match them this time around. This is a game of utmost importance for both sides. They are eyeing the continental ticket and we are striving to survive the drop, so this will make the encounter as tough than the first leg. Let’s hope we will have our day in Calabar and cause upset for them, it’s very possible”, Ajannah who’s just returned from CHAN EAGLES camp concluded.
ABS FC are 16th on the NPFL log with 43 points after 33 games. They will be guests of fourth placed Enyimba FC on 51 points from the same number of matches at the UJ Eusene stadium in Calabar on Sunday.
