Despite a 1-0 win over Abia Angels in a Nigeria Women Premier League match on Wednesday, Coach of Adamawa Queens, Buba Baba feels his team underperformed due to the pressure of playing at home.
The coach revealed this post match in a chat with journalists at the Atiku Abubakar Stadium, Fufore.
Coach Baba told journalists that his team must have felt some nerves playing at home for the first time this season and that hindered their performance somewhat.
”It was a very tough match for us because it was our first home game,” said Baba post match.
“The team was under pressure to win at home and the pressure made us underperform. Abia Angels also did well.”
The Coach however admitted to being happy with getting the maximum points from the game adding more work will be done to ensure the team continues to succeed.
“I’m satisfied with my team but I’ll need to prepare them more psychologically for our home games to douse the tensions associated with it. We will work on that.
“We hope to do better in our next game because we saw some loopholes in the team with this match and we’ll work on that so we can be victorious in our next match.”
Adamawa Queens recorded their first victory in the NWPL to move away from the bottom of their group.
The two top teams qualify for the Super 4 tournament to determine the outright league winners.
