Adeshina hails Sunshine Stars coach Duke Udi’s approach

Optimistic Sunshine will end season on a high

Sunshine Stars forward, Adeshina Thomas has heaped praises on newly appointed Sunshine Stars gaffer, Duke Udi on his philosophy and approach since joining the Akure based side which he claims has helped the club regain its form.

Duke Udi has been in charge of Sunshine Stars for three matches since the resignation of Austin Eguavoen. He’s won two and lost one, including 4-2 win at ABS FC last weekend.

“Coach Duke Udi is a disciplinarian which commands respect from his wards as well as charge them to always brings their full percent to the training ground and always demand for extra percentage on the match-day.

“I’ve a short stint with him while I was with Osun United and from there I’ve known him as a disciplinarian and no-nonsense coach. He has brought in his own approach and philosophy to Sunshine Stars and it’s working well for the team” Adeshina told naijafootballplus correspondent.

“We have been playing according to his plans and instructions and it’s seamlessly worked well for us and I hope it will continue working well for us till we achieve our target of ending the season on a high.

The enterprising striker who’s been with the Owena waves since he joined them mid-season, says only a lazy player will not enjoy the coaching style of former Super Eagles talismanic forward.

“I’m personally learning a good thing from him and he’s friendly and straight forward. It shows he really knows what he’s doing. Our winning mentality has been restored and we aren’t even talking of escaping relegation again but how to finish well on the log at the end of the season”, the former Shooting Stars goalpoacher said.

“Our 4-2 win against ABS FC‎ in Ilorin in our last game isn’t a fluke but the result of determination, dedication and confidence the man, Duke Udi imposed on us and thank God we have been able to make his work speak volumes of him on the pitch.

“We are in a very good form as we speak and that means the chemistry in the team‎ has gotten better and our fans should expect the positive results always. It’s only a matter of time that Sunshine Stars will reach where it belongs”.

Sunshine Stars are sixteenth on the log with 36 points from 28 games and will host Nasarawa United in their next game on Sunday.
