Major league soccer witnessed a thriller of a match on Sunday when FC Dallas which has little known Nigerian Tesho Akindele on their pay roll clashed with the club of one-time Super Eagles invitee Fanendo Adi, Portland Timbers.
In a keenly contested encounter Fanendo Adi gave Timbers a 1-0 lead at halftime, evading his defender to head in David Guzmán’s free kick.
Former Timbers player, Maximiliano Urruti drew Dallas level in the 61st minute with his fourth goal of the season, dribbling into space and hitting a shot into the top left corner past goalkeeper Jeff Attinella.
Portland regained the lead 10 minutes later courtesy of a first MLS goal for Sebastián Blanco.
Akindele scored his first goal for Dallas in the 80th minute to level the tie and end the game 2-2.
