English striker Gabriel Agbonlahor became the latest player to pay tribute to Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme who has been diagnosed with Leukaemia.
Agbonlahor who scored for Aston Villa in the 1-1 draw with Hull City last night, held a shirt bearing a picture of Carl Ikeme in his goal celebration.
After the game Agbonlahor said: “It was nice to score for my friend Carl Ikeme, who’s suffering from leukaemia, so it was a big day for me.
“Get Well Soon, Thinking of You” he stated.
Ikeme was diagnosed with acute Leukemia back in July. He has since begun chemotherapy after he returned “abnormal blood tests” during pre-season.
English semi professional club, Wednesfield FC has named a stand in their home ground after Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme.
Ikeme has been with Wolves for his entire career. He has made more than 200 appearances for Wanderers.
