Super Eagles vice captain and Leicester City winger, Ahmed Musa yesterday was called in for questioning by Police on suspicion of beating his wife reports the Sun UK.
His arrest came just hours after the Leicester City forward took to social media to post a snap of his wife Jamila with a message of love to celebrate her birthday on Wednesday.
Gushing on Instagram, he wrote: “On this special day, may you have: All the joy, your heart can hold; All the smiles, a day can bring; And all the blessings, a life can unfold.
“May God bestow you with His bounties and blessings! Happy Birthday to my Queen.”
He has since been released but according to The Sun, neighbours said the police spent up to two hours at his home before taking him away for questioning. Two female officers reportedly visited his home later to take the statement of his wife with who he has two children.
Musa who joined Leicester City in a £16million deal last summer has struggled to hold down a first team place at Leicester this season and was reported to have stormed out of the Super Eagles camp a fortnight ago after being ignored by Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr on who should captain the Super Eagles.
