United and Sunshine Stars resume hostilities on the same ground in the
Ajibola Otegbeye’s 33rd minute header handed Sunshine Stars FC a 1-0 advantage when both sides met in the semi final first leg at the otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode to leave today’s return leg in Uyo delicately poised.
Speaking ahead of the match, Sunshine Stars head coach, Duke Udi submitted
that his side have come too far to back out in the penultimate game while clamouring for the replica of the first leg officiating.
“I keep reminding my boys that we have come too far for us to go back. We know Akwa United are a quality side but we also play good football and as usual we will fight.”
“All we want is good officiating like the one we both enjoyed in the first leg. The referee’s are doing very well and we need to encourage them, but like Olivier Twist we want more. Football is no where without good officiating.” Udi stated.

Niger Tornadoes in the final of the rebranded oldest football competition
