Osun United midfielder Jide Fatokun has urged his team-mates to capitalise on their recent form and put Sunshine Stars to the sword on Wednesday when both sides clash in the 1st leg quarter finals of the Aiteo cup.
The omoluabi giants will host the first leg on Wednesday at the Oshogbo City stadium with the return leg scheduled for Saturday at the Otunba Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu-Ode, the adopted ground of Sunshine Stars.
Fatokun whose performance in the last couple of games for Osun United hasn’t gone unnoticed will hope to replicate his fine form when his side go to battle against their former boss, Duke Udi who’s now in charge of the Akure gunners.
“I’m anticipating a good match against Sunshine Stars. We have come thus far in the Aiteo Cup not to lose at this stage but to go as far as reaching the final. We have missed out in the NPFL promotion ticket and we want to give our fans something to cheer about this season.
“I’m optimistic we will be victorious over the two legs. Although, it won’t be easy playing against our former boss. He knows this team very well and he would also want to unleash his best squad against us.
“I hope We will be at out best to wreck them”, said the former Gray Int’l FC midfielder to naijafootballplus.com
Busquets as Fatokun is fondly called, added that when he and his team mates heard of the quarter final pairing “we charged ourselves to go all out and do it again, this time against Sunshine stars.
“We have had very good games against Coal City FC, Kwara United and El-Kanemi Warriors feeders in the round of 64, 32 and 16 respectively and Sunshine Stars will not be exempted from our punishment in the quarter finals”, he concluded.
