Chinedu Ajanah wants Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC to make a rapid return to winning ways when they host defending champions, Rangers International FC this weekend
Ajanah was part of the ABS team which fell 1-0 to Wikki Tourists on matchday 30.
The versatile defender believes a victory over Rangers International this weekend is vital and has urged his teammates to produce a big performance at the Ilorin stadium.
“It’s important for us to get back to winning ways as we have been unable to win in our last five games. It won’t be good at all if we didn’t win this tie against the flying antelopes so we must raise our standards and put Rangers International to the sword.
“They are a very good side and they have proved that in recent times. They are the defending champions, though things aren’t going well for them either and that’s why the match would be muchly anticipated and keenly contested for between the two sides but I’m sure we will win if we raise our level”, he told NaijaFootballPlus.
Ajanah also rued his side’s failure to beat Wikki Tourists and Rivers United in their last two games, blaming the reverse on a lack of intensity and fatigue from his side.
“I guess we lack consistency as we have not been able to replicate the first stanza form in the 2nd round of the league. It’s quiet painful and pathetic that the team occupying one to fourth on the log in the first round now battling relegation. We must shed blood if the need arises or else we would say bye to the NPFL.
“We started off the season very well but we weren’t able to keep it up in the 2nd stanza and we were very unfortunate”, he added.
The Saraki boys are currently 17th on the log with 36 points, same points with their opponent, Rangers International FC and both of them will go into loggerhead on Sunday as they are both battling to survive relegation.
