Ajibade’s Late Strike Books Falconets’ Quarter Final Spot

The Nigeria U20 Women team, Falconets on Monday digged deep before they could move into the next round of the ongoing FIFA U20 women World Cup in France.

China dominated the first stanza and scored the first goal through Zhang Linyan in the 41st minutes after she squeezed past Nigeria’s defence.

The Nigeria team came back into the second stanza as the better team when coach Chris Danjuma replaced Monday Gift with Anam Imo.

After so much efforts, the team’s skipper Rasheedat Ajibade drew level for Nigeria in the added minutes and make sure they progress to the knockout stage.

Falconets and China finished on same points but Nigeria scaled through via goal difference

The victory means Nigeria will now take on Spain in the quarter final match.
