Akwa United’s dependable defender Godspower Igudia has been invited to the camp of the National Beach Soccer team – the Super Sand Eagles ahead of the 2017 FIFA Beach World Cup slated for Bahamas.
Igudia who has played all of his club’s matches this season was part of the Super Sand Eagles team that lost to Senegal in last year’s AFCON Beach Soccer finals in Lagos.
The Rock Solid centre back is one of the twenty players invited by coach Audu Adamu to begin camping on April 10th in Lagos before a Four Nation Pre-world cup invitational tournament which will involved Morocco, Cape Verde and host Senegal, who are the African champions.
The highly rated defender has scored one goal this season and the Promise Keepers will miss his services for up to a month.
The 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will run from April 26th to May 4th in the Bahamas.
Nigeria will be participating at the Beach World Cup for the fifth time and they are drawn in Group B alongside Italy, Iran and Mexico.
