Enyimba midfielder Kelly Kester has joined 2017 Aiteo Cup Cup winners Akwa United on a one-year deal.
The towering midfielder spent the last two seasons with the People’s Elephant where he won the league title in 2015 and has been great for the Aba side with his ability to break down opposition attacks well as a holding midfielder.
Kester expressed his delight with his move to a new team Akwa United in an Interview with Naijafootballplus.com.
“It’s good to take up this new challenge and I am delighted,” said Kester. “Akwa United is a very ambitious club and it’s obvious what they are trying to achieve here.
“Obvioisly they are cup Champions ,So I am glad to be here and Achieve the Club’s ambition” Kester said.
He further added that he is ready to help the club achieve a good feat for the upcoming 2017/2018 season and bring excitement to the fans.
His move to the Promise Keepers will see him team up with coach Abdu Maikaba whom he worked with during his time with defunct Sharks FC of Port Harcourt.
Akwa United finished fourth last season and will campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup courtesy of their Aiteo Cup final triumph on penalties over Niger Tornadoes.
