Akwa United attacker Ibrahim Alhassan is still relishing the experience with the Super Eagles under Gernot Rohr in France.
The former Flying Eagles star made his National team debut against Corsica last week, he was named in the starting line-up against the French Islanders.
The clash which ended one goal apiece at the Stade Francois City, Ajaccio is a build-up game for the three-time African champions ahead of the 2019 AFCON qualifier against South Africa.
“I’m delighted to be given this glorious opportunity to be part of the National team. It’s a dream come true for me, to play for my country at this level is such an amazing moment.
“The experience is huge, to train and play under coach Gernot Rohr. I feel fulfilled and happy to be counted among the best in the country.
“I felt the emotions when I stepped out for the game against Corsica in the green and white jersey. I appreciated this chance and I’m working hard to make this permanent,” said Alhassan to Naijafootballplus.com from Paris.
Alhassan, who has scored 10 goals in the ongoing NPFL season said he is looking forward to Thursday’s international friendly against Togo.
“I’m looking forward at making my full international debut and I have been working with the group. It’s not about individual but the team success, we have been working as a team ahead of the game against Togo.
“I’m hoping the coach will consider me for the game and that will make it a mission accomplish for me in France. I wished to play the two matches, that was my target before leaving Nigeria for the camping,” he said.
Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr will release a final squad for the AFCON qualifier against South Africa in Uyo next month.
Alhassan added; “This is my ultimate target, to be part of the squad that will play against South Africa in Uyo.
“I have got scores of fans in Uyo and they are hoping to see me play in front of them in the National team colours.
“I will continue to work hard and work with the squad. The experience is awesome for me, the memory will live long with me.”
