Former Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose has agreed a two deal with newly promoted Scottish premier League side Hibernian FC.
Former Kaduna United centre back joined the Easter road side from Scottish premier league champions Celtic on-loan during the winter transfer window after an intended move to English championship side Blackburn Rovers collapsed due to work permit.
The 28 year old has put up outstanding performances which helped the Hibs to emerge champions of the Scottish championship and automatically secured premier league football next season. This further convinced the technical crew of the team led by manager Neil Lennon who signed Ambrose when he was in charge at Celtic in 2012, to speak to management into signing him permanently.
Hibernian Football Club senior chief Jackie McNamara said about Ambrose: “I’m absolutely delighted, it’s a great signing. I was hoping they would manage to sign him and I’m delighted they have.
“Of course, Neil Lennon knows what he can do from their time at Celtic and I loved watching him when he was at Hibs on loan,” he told ccpsports in Scotland.
Ambrose, a former Nigeria junior international was part of Super Eagles 2013 squad that emerged winners of the African Cup of Nations in South Africa and has over 50 caps for Nigeria.
