Former Nigerian U-20 player Sammy Ameobi have secured promotion with Newcastle after victory over Preston sealed the magpies return to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Ameobi was not dressed as Newcastle beat Preston 4-1 to secure the second automatic spot to the English top flight football next season.
The Nigerian forward has made only 4 appearances for Newcastle in the championship, which could be attributed to the manager in charge Rafeal Benitez.
Sammy Ameobi joined Newcastle in 2008, making 58 appearances in the EPL, scoring 2 goals and creating 3 assists.
It is not yet clear if Ameobi will be playing in the EPL next season as his contract runs out at the end of the season. He had a brief loan spell at Bolton.
