Ahead of the 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final between Super Falcons of Nigeria and Banyana Banyana of South Africa on Saturday, December 1st at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Naijafootballplus.com correspondent in Ghana, Faith Oluchi caught up with players and coaches of both teams ahead of the final game.
Both teams have been talking tough ahead of the encounter and here are some Naijafootballplus.com exclusive quotes from the players and coaches;
Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby: We are not talking about revenge but we want to win the game definitely, the players are well motivated. I think they will have a good performance tomorrow better than the first match.
Onome Ebi: We are going all out in the game to retain our trophy and to show that we are truly champions.
Asisat Oshoala: “The team is ready for the fight, the motivation yesterday, the paid bonuses and everything been paid, so the girls are happy. We are ready to give 100% percentage on the pitch tomorrow because after the game, we have like one month break, so there is no point conserving any energy”.
Chukwunoye Josephine: We are going out to have a good game and good fight against South Africa tomorrow.
Tochukwu Oluehi: I’m happy to meet South Africa tomorrow, this is the right time to show them that the group stage they won was a mistake. We are out for them tomorrow.
Ngozi Okobi: What happened in the first match will not happen again because everyone is in right state of mind and we’re good to go.
Anam Imo: “They defeated us in the first match but we are prepared for them tomorrow”.
Coach Desiree Ellis: It’s always difficult to beat a team twice in same competition but it’s possible to make history history twice in one tournament”.
Jermaine Seoposenwe: I know Nigeria will come all out like a wounded lion but we are ready for them. It will go down to who wants it more and I think my team wants it more”.
Chrestinah Kgatlana: It’s about time we challenge Nigeria because they have dominated on the continent. We challenged them in the first match, won it and now they that South Africa will give them a tough game.
Janine Van Wyk: I know Nigeria will come hard on us, tomorrow’s match is a different game entirely and we are ready to fight on.
