Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Monday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos qualified for the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations in style with the bashing of their Gambian counterpart.
FC Guingamp Feminine striker Desire Oparanozie was the cynosure of all eyes has she netted four goals in the 6-0 bashing of Queen Scorpion of Gambia.
The lanky forward opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the third minute before Asisat Oshoala doubled it in the 44th minute to give Nigeria 2-0 lead in the first half.
The second half resumed with the host still dominating possession just like the first half and it paid off in the 49th minute as Oparanozie struck again.
Oparanozie completed her hat trick in the 63rd minute before Oshoala also completed her brace 10 minutes later.
Oparanozie made it 6-0 in the 83rd minute with a fine finish to ensure comprehensively defeat their opponent.
The win made it 7-0 on aggregate in favour of Nigeria after winning the first leg 0-1 in Baku Gambia last Wednesday.
Nigeria’s team has qualified to defend the crown she won two years ago in Cameroon and also stand as strong favourite for the upcoming competition in Ghana later in this year.
