Suraj Ayeleso made his 50th Nasarawa United league appearance in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 30 win over El-Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday in Lafia.
The 26-year-old started his 30th league game this season against El-kanemi Warriors, he made 20 league appearances in his first year at the club last season.
Ayeleso joined Nasarawa United from Kwara United in January 2016 and made his first league appearance against Akwa United in Uyo on May 14, 2016.
Ayeleso has kept 12 clean sheets this season and he is one of the few players to have featured in all NPFL games this term.
He has now tallied a half century of outings for the Solid Miners and that caps his sensational rise over the last 12 months since his move from Kwara United.
“I feel honoured to have played 50 games for Nasarawa United since I joined this great club from Kwara United. Since I made my debut against Akwa United last season I have been motivated to give my best for the team,” said Ayeleso to Naijafootballplus.com.
“I’m also lucky, I have stayed injury free for over a year and that has help me achieve this milestone. I thought last season was good when I played 19 games after my debut, but this season has been brilliant for me and my teammates.
“Kudos to my teammates, coaches and the club management for the support, without them I can’t achieve this 50 games. I’m excited and looking forward to the future. I want to win titles here and write my name among legends of the club.”
Suraj Ayeleso missed out from the 2018 CHAN qualifiers squad, the tall and lanky goalkeeper says he is not bothered about the snub.
“I have to remain focus and continue to work hard, I’m not worried about missing out from the CHAN squad. It’s a challenge for me to continue working hard, my time will come in the National team.
“I’m wishing my colleagues that got invited success, the truth is that Nigeria has got abundant talents in the goalkeeping department and I’m confident the future is secured with the quality goalkeepers in the league,” he added.
