Kennedy Boboye has reiterated Plateau United’s title ambition following their 1-0 win over FC Ifeanyi Ubah on matchday 30 of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Wednesday.
Emma James converted from the spot (after Stephen Eze brought down Owolabi Hamzat in the box) in the 14th minute to earn the home team a vital and valuable three points in a crucial encounter.
Boboye believes with the calibre of players and support from Plateau state government, his target to win the league this season will be achieved.
“Getting the maximum three points against hard fighting FC Ifeanyi Ubah even at home isn’t an easy task. The visitors came to upset us but thank God we have been able to curtail their antics. It’s a suitable victory for us”, Boboye told NaijaFootballPlus
“Now we should avoid any distractions and we will continue working hard to ensure this title didn’t slip us by. We won’t be complacent and we would play all our remaining games as if our lives depended on it.
“The victory indicates that the boys are soaring and rearing to go. We are now becoming the team everybody would be proud of. We will continue to work harder and give it a push and I believe with dedication, commitment, determination and support from our government and football loving fans in the state, the NPFL title is ours”, said the former Sunshine stars and Abia Warriors gaffer.
Plateau United are still atop the NPFL log with 54 points, five points clear of MFM FC in second after thirty matches. They’ll travel to engage Lobi Stars in Makurdi this weekend.
