Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title winning coach, Kennedy Boboye has thanked his players for their doggedness and hard work that helped his title defending Plateau United side complete a comeback victory over visiting Lobi Stars who are currently top of the table in a rescheduled NPFL matchday 17 fixture played on Wednesday in Jos.
Speaking to journalists after leading his side to the victory at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State, the former Abia Warriors coach couldn’t hide his joy.
“I give kudos to my players. They really played up to expectations. We conceded the first goal but came back from 0-1 down and fought as a team for the victory.
“This same Lobi team almost delayed our title celebrations last season.” He said.
Furthermore, Boboye reiterated his desire to retain the title he won last season, saying that the team is focused on glory again.
“Definitely we want to win the title again. We are working very hard to make sure we find ourselves where we rightly belong. Our ambition is to be at the top,” Boboye concluded.
Plateau United ran away with the title last season but have struggled earlier this season to replicate their last season form but have looked rejuvenated lately after their continental campaign came to an abrupt end earlier than anticipated.
