French club Bordeaux have announced that they have reached an agreement with Belgian side KAA Gent for the transfer of Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu for a fee in the region of €8 million.
The statement was released on the Bordeaux official Twitter handle which read;” We inform you that an agreement have been reached, subject to the signature of all administrative documents, with Gent, for the transfer of Samuel Kalu.”
Kalu still only 20-year-old, is expected to be a direct replacement for Brazilian winger Malcom who made €30 million transfer to Barcelona this summer.
Kalu scored seven league goals while bagging 10 assists in 32 appearances last season in the Belgian First Division A for Gent.
Once the deal is complete the skillful attacking winger will be making an upgrade from Belgium to France in the colours of six time League 1 Champions Boarduex managed by former Sunderland coach Gus Poyet.
