Borussia Dortmund have appointed Lucien Favre as their new manager, ahead of the 2018/19 season.
Favre resigned from OGC Nice after finishing sixth three days ago, and the 60-year now joins Die Schwarzgelben. Dortmund sacked Peter Bosz in December, and appointed Peter Stoger until the end of the recently-concluded campaign, in which they finished fourth, and Favre’s appointment means they’ve hired four managers since Jurgen Klopp in 2015.
The appointment is one of the few changes to happen for the Borussia club ahead of next season, with Matthias Sammer also coming in as a consultant, along with the arrival of a new Sporting Director.
Favre managed Nice for the past two seasons, having also coached Borussia Monchengladbach from 2011 to 2015.
