Following the relegation of his team Amkar Perm from the Russia Premier League due to financial issue, Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender Brian Idowu has pitched his tent with Russian champions Locomotive Moscow.
The Russian champions confirmed his capture via the club website on Tuesday and revealed that the player has penned a three years deal.
Idowu expressed his excitement joining the club.
“I am very glad to switch to Lokomotiv,” Idowu told Lokomotiv official website.
“I’m really looking forward to joining the team at the training camp.
“In childhood, I watched the matches of
Lokomotiv in the Champions League – against Real (Madrid), Inter (Milan). The whole country was proud of the team!”
The utility defender who was part of Super Eagles to the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup will have the opportunity to take part in the lucrative UEFA Champions League this season.
