Bundesliga: Bayern ease past Stuttgart, Wolfsburg continue flying start, Hertha win at Schalke

For the second weekend running in the Bundesliga, it’s three goals and three points for Bayern Munich, with the added bonus of a clean sheet this time.

The champions travelled to Stuttgart, after beginning the season with a win at home to Hoffenheim. Despite a laboured first half, where fluidity was lacking and chances were few and far between, Die Roten went into the break in the lead after a beautiful curling effort by Leon Goretzka, following a pass from Thomas Muller.

Goretzka turned provider in the second period, aiding Robert Lewandowski, who found the bottom corner to double Bayern’s lead. And Lewandowski also played the role of helper late on, his neat flick enabling Muller to add a third and crown off another dominant victory for FC Hollywood.

Wolfsburg are another who have two wins from two, the side who have struggled for the past three seasons starting this campaign strongly. Die Wolfe had to come from behind at Leverkusen, though, conceding to Leon Bailey, before a Ramazan Ozcan own goal, a Wout Weghorst header, and a third from Renato Steffen on the hour mark sealed victory for Bruno Labbadia’s side.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund had to settle for a point at Hannover following a goalless draw, while an Ondrej Duda double secured a win for Hertha Berlin at Schalke.

Werder Bremen needed a stoppage time winner from Milot Rashica to see off ten-man Frankfurt, Adam Szalai got a brace as Hoffenheim beat Freiburg, Nuremberg got their first goal of the season, but had to settle for a point against Mainz, while Borussia Monchengladbach shared the spoils with Augsburg.
