CAF Awards: Mane, Salah optimistic, Aubameyang missing


Liverpool duo of Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah have arrived in Accra, Ghana ahead of tonight’s 2017 AITEO CAF Awards, reports
live from Accra.

Mane and Salah arrived in Accra at 4pm Ghana time (5pm Nigeria time) while
Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is been expected.

Mane believes he deserves to be among the top three in Africa despite Senegal’s quarter-final African Cup of Nations exit.

“We are happy to be in the same team, we are happy to play together and work for the same team. I deserve to be here, the best will win tonight and I’m confident I will win,” said Mane.

The Egyptian forward speaking in the same vein, revealed Sane as his best friend in Liverpool.

“Sane is my best friend, since I arrived in Liverpool we became a closed friends and we are happy to share everything together. I think at the end, we’ll achieve many things together.

“I want to win everything, I want to be the best. Since I became as a professional, in my mind I want to be the best player in the history of Egyptian football. I know what I want and I know how to do it, I’m working
hard everyday. I’m optimistic I will emerge winner tonight”.

However, CAF General Secretary Amr Fahmy, told journalists at the Accra Conference Centre that Aubameyang is airborne from Europe.
