Enyimba International FC head coach, Usman Abd’allah has expressed his confidence in his team as they prepare to take on Williamsville Athletic Club of Ivory Coast in a Matchday four CAF Confederation Cup group stage fixture on Sunday.
Speaking to journalists before the team’s departure from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos en route Abidjan, the coach said that his team will not find it easy but can get a result away from home.
“Williamsville are a young team of players who play strictly to instructions. That they have gotten to this stage is a sign that they are really good.
“We are lucky that we will be playing them immediately after our last meeting in Port Harcourt. We have no knowledge of them prior to that meeting and because we now know them, we are sure that we can prepare for them and work towards a favorable result.” He said.
Last Wednesday, an Ibrahim Mustapha seventh minute opener was enough to hand Enyimba a 1-0 victory over Williamsville and move to the summit of Group C.
Enyimba will be without veteran midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu who failed to shake off a recurring injury which has seen him limited to cameo appearances this season.
Williamsville are yet to lose at home in the CAF Confederation Cup, beating CARA Brazzaville 1-0 in their last group game in Abidjan and will hope to regain the top spot of the league which they lost as a result of the defeat to Enyimba, their first in three games.
