CAFCC: Al Hilal sack coach ahead Akwa United clash

With about a week to the first leg of the CAF confederation cup playoff between Nigeria Aiteo Cup Champions Akwa United and Al Hilal of Sudan, the Sudanese side has parted ways with their manager Sergio Farias.

The club parted ways with the Brazilian gaffer after the club failed to reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The modest Sudanese side crashed out after losing out over two legs to AS Port of Togo.

Al Hilal lost the first leg in Lome 2-0 and though they won the reverse fixture 3-1 in Omdurman the Togolese side went through via the away goal rule following the 3-3 aggregate scoreline.

His disengagement was made known on the Al Hilal website on Friday morning.

The club will host Akwa United in the first leg in Omdurman on April 6 before travelling to Nigeria for the return leg.

All Hilal is placed 6th on the Sudanese premier league table with 11 points from 5 games.
