Egyptian officials Ghead Grisha, Tahssen El Sadat Bedyer and Mahmoud El Regal will be in charge of the CAF Champions League game between Lobi Stars of Nigeria and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
The Nigeria League Management Company revealed via twitter that centre referee, Grisha will be assisted by his compatriots, Bedyer and Regal as the two league champions clash in the Group A opener.
Grisha became a FIFA referee in 2008. He has served as a referee at the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and
2017 Africa Cup of Nations. He was also chosen to serve as a referee at 2018 FIFA World Cup .
Lobi Stars, who were declared winners of the Nigeria Professional Football League last year will hope to begin their campaign on a high when they take on the ABSA Premiership champions.
Lobi Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns made their continental debuts in the year 2000 but it’s been over a decade of absence for the Nigerian side.
The Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu, the adopted home ground of Lobi Stars will host the game by 5:00pm on Friday.
