Cakir to officiates England, Croatia tie


Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has appointed Turkish referee, Cuneyt Cakir, for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup second semi final between Croatia and England slated for Wednesday.

The World football governing body named Turkey’s Cuneyt Cakir as the centre referee for the epic semi final.

He will be assisted by compatriots Bahattin Duran and Tarik Ongun as Assistant Referee 1 and 2.

Netherlands duo of Bjorn Kuipen and Van Rokkel will work as 4th officials and reserved referee.

Cakir was at the centre when Argentina defeated Nigeria’s Super Eagles 2-1 in the last group game.
