Former Cameroonian international Patrick Mboma has put faith in the ability of his countrymen to shock Nigeria once again when both nations clash in September in a 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking to journalists in Morocco, venue of the symposium on African football, Mboma is confident the Indomitable Lions will win both legs come September.
“As it was in the beginning, Cameroon will win in Nigeria and win in Cameroon. We know how to handle Nigeria”, Mboma said.
He also brought back memories of AFCON 2000 where the Indomitable Lions shocked Nigeria in the final in Lagos via penalties.
He said: “That victory was painful to Nigerians and that is exactly what we are coming back to do on September 1”.
Nigeria will host the first leg of the encounter on September 1, 2017. Before travelling to Yaounde for the second leg four days later.
The Super Eagles lead the group with 6points from two matches while Cameroon are in Second place with 2 points.
