Ahead of the long-awaited African Nations championship opening Group C match between Nigeria and Rwanda, captain of the Amavubi side Eric Ndayishimiye says his team are ready to face a ‘strong Nigeria side’.
The captain made the statement while speaking at a pre-match press conference in preparation for the game slated for Tangier on Monday.
“We are facing a strong Nigerian team in our first group opening match. It’s a strong and good squad with rich football history and usually opening matches are always difficult,” the Rayon Sports goalkeeper said during the pre-match conference on Sunday night.
“However, we are very committed and ready for this crucial game. Our mission is to secure maximum points and I can guarantee you that everyone is ready for the battle,” he told Rwanda FA official website.
Nigeria and Rwanda will clash in Tangier, Morocco today 8:30pm Nigeria time.
