Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal in principle to sign Chelsea striker Diego Costa.
The hierarchy at Chelsea and Atletico de Madrid have eventually ironed out a deal that will see the out-of-favour striker, Diego Costa return to the Spanish capital, NaijafootballPlus can report.
The deal, which has dragged on since July after Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte allegedly ‘text-messaged’ the 28 year-old that he won’t be part of his plan for the new season, was finally announced to have yielded a headway by the London Club on their official website.
“Chelsea Football Club has today agreed terms with Atlético Madrid for the transferof Diego Costa,” said the statement released on Chelseafc.com.
“The transfer will be subject to the agreement of personal terms and a medical.”
In that same trend, Atletico Madrid then confirmed the agreement and further stated that the Brazilian born striker has been granted the permission to travel to Spain for medicals and personal terms discourse.
“Atlético de Madrid and Chelsea have reached an initial agreement for the transfer of Diego Costa,” the club stated.
“The agreement is pending the formalisationof the contract between our club and the Spanish international forward. The English club has authorised Diego Costa to travel to Madrid in the coming days to undergo medical tests and settle his contract with our club.”
The deal which is believed to be around £57 Million will see the Spanish International play under Diego Simeone for the second time after moving the other way for £32 Million back in 2014.
