English born Nigerian right full back Ola Aina has officially submitted application to FIFA for a switch to represent Nigeria at the national level.
Aina who is a product of the Chelsea Academy, is said to be keen to play for the Super Eagles instead of the three lions of England.
“The documentation has been done and in the new week, it will be submitted to FIFA for approval,” an official of the Nigerian Football Federation said to scorenigeria.com.ng.
“How fast FIFA and the FA in England work on this will determine how soon his application will come through.”
The Chelsea FC of England player, trained with the Super Eagles in March and was impressed with Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and his interest for his services.
Ola Aina, 20, was born in London but linked to Nigeria by his grandfather, has represented England in the U-16 and U-20 levels.
