More accolades are coming the way of Nigeria’s U20 captain, Ikoeuwem Udoh Utin, the latest being an interest from Club Brugge of Belgium in the 19 year old fullback.
This was confirmed by a source close to Enyimba FC, Ikoeuwem’s current club, stating that the club is only holding out for a better deal for the youngster.
“It’s a five year deal which we feel is good for the boy and his career growth, and even though some other clubs have contacted us over him. Club Brugge are the only club with a formal bid for him.
“We are satisfied with what they are offering in terms of transfer fee but his wages is a concern to us as a team. We have to make sure his interest is also protected. Talks are progressing nicely anyway.” The source revealed.
Ikoeuwem Udoh Utin burst into the scene only last year as he successfully deputized for Chima Akas in the leftback position for the club as he was always involved in the Nigeria’s Team B at that time.
By December that same year, he was selected to feature for Nigeria at the CHAN tournament, where he played second fiddle to Daniel Itodo and did enough to earn himself an invitation to the U20 team which he eventually emerged as the captain.
He also featured for Nigeria in the GOTV Max Cup, playing for 45 minutes and delivering an impressive display as usual.
