Enyimba FC Coach, Usman Abd’Allah has promised to work on his team’s defence following a loss to Kwara United on Match Day 3 in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The People’s Elephant let the lead slip twice as Kwara United came from behind to claim a famous 3-2 victory in Ilorin.
Abd’Allah says a lackadaisical attitude by his defenders cost Enyimba a tie it should have won and promised to deal with the situation before the next league game.
“My defence was very casual,” said an angry Abd’Allah after the loss.
“It is uncalled for to keep on conceding goals like that and I am not happy with it.
“I am going to address the situation. We can’t continue this way.”
The Enyimba coach also made it clear a draw wouldn’t have been to his satisfaction, as he wanted maximum points from the encounter.
Kwara fighting spirit
Coach Abd’Allah commended the fighting spirit of Kwara United who were apparently determined not to lose their third match in a row.
“Credit to Kwara. A team with sheer determination.
“I wonder why they couldn’t put this determination to use in their last two matches. With this type of determination, they will go places.
“I am very impressed. Credit goes to them. They deserved to win.”
