Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh continued to exceed expectations after his Fortuna Sittard side beat FC Oss 2-0.
Oliseh who has already surpassed the target of avoiding relegation set for him before taking over, has now guided Fortuna Sittard to a 15 points gap from the relegation zone in the Dutch second division.
Still in Netherlands, on loan Arsenal star Kelechi Nwakali was subbed off in the 84th minute as his VV Maastricht side lost 2-0 away to De Graafschap.
Nwakali a former captain of the Nigerian U-17 has scored 2goals in 27 appearances for Maastricht.
Over in Finland where KuPS, parading three Nigerians in their team edged a thrilling contest 2-1 against FC Inter Turku with two Nigerians finding the back of the net in contrasting fashions.
Former Warri wolves and NPFL top scorer Gbolahan Salami scored the opener for KuPS FC in the 28th minute, a lead which was canceled by out of favour Super Eagles defender Azubuike Egwuekwe who scored an own goal to level the scores for Inter.
Fortunately KuPS scored a second half winner to redeem Egwuekwe’s costly error. Reuben Gabriel, the other Nigerian came on as a second half substitute.
Both Gbolahan Salami and Azubuike Egwuekwe were team mates at Warri wolves and had spells in the Nigerian Super Eagles team.
