Former Golden Eaglets striker, Macaulay Chrisantus opened his account for Finnish club HJK Fc, but it turned out to be less of a consolation as they were roundly demolished 1-4 by visiting Olimpija Fc in a UEFA Europa League match played Thursday.
Chrisantus and his teammates had it all to do after losing the first leg 0-3 in Slovenia, but their task was made even impossible when the visitors raced to a three goal lead through Abass in the 20th, Avramovski 72nd and Riku Riski own goal in the 75th minutes.
Chrisantus only came on as a 64th minute substitute replacing Jordan Domínguez, before he reduced the deficit in the 85th minute.
But a late penalty from Olimpija player Brkić inside 2 minutes of added time ensured a 4-1 win for the visitors and a comprehensive 7-1 aggregate win.
While Chrisantus Macaulay might have scored the only goal for HJK coming off the bench, his Nigerian teammate Friday Obilor, played the entire duration of the match.
Chrisantus and Faith Obilor will now turn their attention to the domestic league in Finland where they sit on top of the table and in action on Sunday against PS Kemi.
