Action resumed in the Chinese Super League on Saturday, Match Day 17 as Odion Ighalo’s Changchun Yatai played host to Guangzhou Evergrade
It was the host who broke the deadlock in the 17th minute through Yu Rui after a fantastic footwork from Nigeria Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo who also dubbed as the team captain.
After the Yatai’s goal, Guangzhou took over the play and kept on dominating the game until they leveled up in the 28th minute with a strike from Yang Liyu.
Ricardo Goulart put the away side ahead in the 43rd minute to end the first half 1-2 in favour of Guangzhou.
Yatai returned for the second stanza as the better side with former Watford striker piling serious pressure on the back four of Guangzhou.
Long Tan equalized the game in the 84th minute before Ighalo put up a fine display and assisted Tan to complete his brace and ensured maximum points for Yatai with 3-2 win.
The victory now pushed Yatai to 9th position on the table with 21 points from 17 matches.
