CSL: Ighalo on target again, as Yatai suffers home loss

Nigeria Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo, continued where he left off on Wednesday in the Chinese Super League as he hit target again.

Ighalo who netted on Wednesday when Changchun Yatai defeated Chongqing Lifan was on song again on Saturday when Yatai hosted Shandoeng Lueng.

The game started with the host dominating the possession and piling pressure on Shandong.

The Former Watford striker broke the deadlock in the 24th minute of play following a fine footwork from Xoadong Fan and the half ended with Yatai on top.

The second stanza was a different ball game as the away team seized the possession which finally paid off in the 47th minute with an effort from former Southampton striker, Graziano Pelle.

Shandong continued pilling pressure on Yatai and it yielded in the 68th minute through an own goal from Yatai’s  defender, Nemanja Pejcinovic.

The game would have been out of hand in the 90th minute, but Tardelli missed a spot kick awarded to Shandong but the still ended 1-2 in favour of Shandong Lueng.

Ighalo’s goal tally for the season has now increased to 9 goals.
